Description

This letter from Mrs. Max Ward says she is enclosing a picture of the O. U. student body in 1885. She says the picture was given to her by Miss Grace Meeker. Mrs. Ward's uncle, Arthur Carpenter, is in the picture. She believes Miss Meeker, Dr. Ward, George Sutherland, and Hamblin are also in the photograph. Mrs. Ward gives details about her uncle's career as a patent medicine salesman for S. F. Baker Company and credits OU's elocution classes for her uncle's success. She also offers a collection of women's hats and dresses to the OU theater department.
