The Sac & Fox agent B. A. James wrote this letter to testify to the upright character of John T. (Tauy) Jones. He gave some background information on Jones as well as the relationship he had with him. He gave two possible reasons for Jones' home being destroyed by vandals. He refuted the validity of both reasons and told what value he would place on Jones' home.
