Description

One Victorian side chair dated between 1875-1900. Has arms carved into dog heads. On Card - Victorian Chair - Fabric covered chair with Walnut or mahogany frame and dog heads carved onto ends of arms. Beige upholstery fabric of floral brocade. Fabric design is rose color and yellow. Arms are upholstered. Piping up over back and across lower front. An old episode of 'Antiques Roadshow' told of a furniture maker from Emporia KS named Mr. Stookey or Stuckey who carved animal heads into his pieces. There is some vague Emporia connection with this chair, but no direct evidence that Mr. Stookey carved it. 1
