Description
Newspaper article titled "Tall Tales from the Darkroom" written by John Mark Lambertson and published in The Ottawa Herald September 22-23, 1990. Article focuses on the recent publication of the book about exaggerated postcards titled "Larger Than Life" by Ottawa native Morgan Williams and with text written by Cynthia Elyce Rubin. The book uses many images by W. H. "Dad" Martin, an Ottawa photographer from 1894-approximately 1911, and one by Ottawan J. B. Mickey (Muecke). Photographs used to produce the exaggerated cards were shot in and around Ottawa using local residents. Bert Underwood, co-founder of Underwood and Underwood Studios is featured in one of Martin's postcards. The cards in the book are part of the extensive collection owned by Morgan Williams.
