Newspaper article by John Mark Lambertson and originally published in The Ottawa Herald December 15, 1987. Article tells of Diamond, a circus elephant who escaped while in Quenemo in December 1926 and rambled over Osage, Franklin, Coffey, Anderson and Allen counties before being captured.
Newspaper article includes an ad that was in The Ottawa Herald ballyhooing the suddenly famous elephants.
