Description
These O.U. faculty minutes are in a brown book and are from the years 1883-1887. At Ottawa University's beginning the faculty made most of the decisions and ran the school. The faculty decided on the courses, the schedule of classes, holiday breaks, and the everyday rules of the school. Students would have to appear before the faculty to explain why they had missed chapel or classes.
On page 60 they approve J. W. Stocks for graduation making him the first graduate of Ottawa University.
This book is online. The website includes both the original document and a transcription of the minutes. Only a few of the names in the minutes have been indexed.
