Description
This unsigned memoir appears to have been written by a niece of Dr. Milan Ward. The author might be Grace Meeker or her sister Jennie Meeker. They were the children of Jennie Ward's brother Silas B. Meeker. She tells about going to school at Ottawa University when she was a small child. She mentions her teachers Mrs. Ruth Giffin, Elizabeth S. Morse, and a student tutor who was later called Dr. Nellie Kedzie Jones. She describes the planting of trees on the grounds and the University nursery. She tells of how Dr. Ward prepared for classes and his belief that theory and practice went hand in hand.
