Description

A sepia-toned studio photograph of Jane (Kelly) Jones taken in 1882. Her hair is hanging down to her shoulders. She is wearing a dark dress with a lace collar. A note on the back (probably written with a ballpoint pen) apparently added later says "Mrs. Jones worked in Baptist Missions - was wife of Tauy Jones, the Indian who gave the property to Ottawa University stands." Written very faintly in pencil at the bottom of the photograph is "Mrs. Ottawa Jones" The photograph was taken by the Leonard & Martin studio of Topeka, Kansas.
