Excavations for the foundation of a new Livery Stable on Main street are now being made on the lots immediately south of the store of Volrath & Shoemaker. It will be thirty-five feet front and seventy-five feet in depth. Mr. W. T. Pickrell, familiarly known as “Tom” to distinguish him from his other brothers, is the proprietor, and is now absent at the east purchasing carriages and a first class outfit for the stable. We are glad to see a longfelt want in this community supplied, and by such a genial and accommodating man as Mr. Pickrell. We wish the enterprise a success, and if a outfit is provided in which a man will not be ashamed to ride anywhere, we have no doubt but that it will be liberally supported by the denizens of the burg, even if it should be a little more expensive.
