We notice that the building opposite Whetstone & Davis’ new block, lately occupied by Heck & Nix, has been converted into a saddle and harness shop by Mr. George Neff, lately from Bloomington, Ill. He thinks that as the Normal Institute has done much towards building up Bloomington, our University, will warrant the expectations of a flourishing town here. He came originally to Kansas in 1856, was one of the immortal one hundred who were captured by United States troops and thrown into a loathsome guard house at Lecompton, subsequently served three years with the boys in blue, has returned to Kansas because he believes in the country and is prepared to furnish anything in his line at a reasonable rate.
