H. A. Dunn is proprietor of the great dry goods emporium at 318 South Main street in Ottawa. The stock throughout is one of the most select in the country. The house was established by Mr. L. C. McIntire in 1882 and was succeeded by M. R. Culbertson and H. A. Dunn, Mr. Dunn succeeding to the business some 11 years ago. The splendid stock of dry goods, dress novelties, silks, cloaks, capes and jackets, carpets, protieres, curtains, ladies’ furnishing goods, etc., have been selected with due regard to quality and service. On entering this magnificent emporium one is struck with the harmony of arrangement and the exquisite and artistic manner in which all goods are displayed. Among the many attractive inducements offered at this house every day in the year, there are perhaps none that will greet the trade with such interest as the great sale of cloaks, capes and jackets that will take place the 15th proximo. Over 300 of the garments, worth from $8 to $20, will be sold at $2.98 each. Such rare bargains are seldom ever offered by any house and we doubt not that the public will be prepared to take advantage of the splendid offer on and after that date. It requires the services of 12 salesladies and gentlemen to supply the wants of customers, and the arrangements are so perfect that there is the greatest dispatch and promptness obtained. Mr. Dunn has had many years’ experience in merchandising and has had rare opportunities for expansion in his methods, and in the pursuit of trade in which he is engaged. Few cities of this class can boast of such a splendid dry goods house and Ottawa is to be congratulated upon having such a splendid establishment. It is such establishments as this that gives Ottawa prestige as a commercial center, and Mr. Dunn deserves the highest praise and a most liberal patronage for his enterprise, push and energy in conducting and maintaining such an establishment.
