B. D. Bennett succeeded to an extensive coal and ice business here March 1, 1897. Office of Mr. Bennett is in the basement of the People’s National Bank building. There are several wagons busy much of the time supplying best quality of ice and coal to customers during all months of the year; winter months, of course, making the demand for coal the greatest. All grades of coal, the best mined, hard and soft, are furnished in quantities desired. Handling both coal and ice in very large quantities enables Mr. Bennett to deliver it to customers at lowest prices, a fact appreciated to the fact that the yearly operations are very large.
