Mr. Wood, the dealer in groceries, flour and feed, is located at 132 South Main street. This is one of the largest and best equipped houses in this city and is in all respects comparable with like concerns in the larger cities. Such an accession to the business life must be welcome and attract attention and the patronage of the residents in the suburbs as well as this locality throng the store during the business hours, tending to show what a great business coupled with progressive ideas can do in the Twentieth Century. A large line of staple and fancy groceries, canned goods, smoked and dried meats, vegetables, flour, grain and feed are carried which are carefully selected for their purity, and excellence. This business was established in 1898 and has been conducted along lines that insure a steady increase in patronage and popularity. Four deliveries are made daily to all parts of the city and four courteous assistants are employed in the store to wait on the trade and fill orders. Promptness of service and careful dealings with the trade have been important factors in developing this business. He specializes the Sun Burst and Ottawa brands of canned goods. This is the only electric lighted grocery store in the city: it occupies a space 25×140 feet. Mr. W. T. Wood, the proprietor, was born in Illinois in 1867. He was previously engaged in the shoe business in Cherryvale, Kansas, and is a member of the Masons, M.W.A., and Elks. He takes pride in the fact that he owns and operates one of the most complete stores in this city, enjoying his full share of patronage from the particular and discriminating public.
